I was just notified that I was caught uploading material over a torrent and that I was going to be contacted by the office of judicial affairs. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else in the past and how severe was the punishment?

It happened to me last year, and I was scared out of my mind. You'll have
to review all of the computer rules and regulations, and then meet with
them. Don't bother coming up with an excuse, they don't care. Once you go
over what you did wrong and why it's wrong and everything, they'll ask you
some questions and then tell you that you're being charged with a minor
infraction for "computer misuse." The second time you're caught is much
more serious, so I stayed away from downloading movies after that, ha. I'm
not sure how serious that penalty actually is, because I had a background
check done on me for a computer related job and they didn't say anything
about it. Be careful, stay away from movies from now on.
