Can I paint the walls of my dorm room a different color than they already are? I heard it's allowed as long as I paint the walls back to their original color at the end of the year.

Yes, you can. There is a large fee if you do not paint them back though,
just to warn you.

It may depend on the building, but my friend painted her wall in charter
oak apartments last year and they made her change it back after the CA saw
it. So I think the answer to your question is no. If you really want to
paint your room, you should ask your CA about it beacause they're the ones
that are going to be doing the monthly inspections.

As far as I remember, you can. But you have to get approval for the color
from somewhere. As long as they approve, you can paint your room and they
will supply everything, I think. I don't quite remember so you might want
to look it up. I believe it's in the housing rules you get when you move
in. You might be ab;e to find out on the webpage.

I would not suggest painting the walls, it is already enough hassle to
just move in on move in day that I hardly think that painting the walls
is going to happen. I have also never heard of anything like that before.
