What's the best way to get to know professors at UCSD as an undergraduate in order to get letters of recommendation?

I feel the best way to know professors is if you work in their lab. I work at the Gerwick lab and Dr. Gerwick and his wife (both professors) have written me commendably. So if you really want to get a rec, offer to volunteer (even if its only for a quarter) at their lab and pretend that you love their work. They usually get excited about that.
I guess the next best thing to do is regular office hours. If you talk about the prof's work, they will love you. Keep going, maintain constant contact, and ask/talk about the field that you like.
Additionally, networking opportunities also are a convenient place to get to know professionals in the field. Look out for Alumni/Career Center/Chancellor's events. They are usually the best.

Hello, the best way to get letters of rec is definitely office hours. If they see your face and and know your name, they should give you a letter of rec. There's also this thing at UCSD which I've heard about...you can go to your school and ask for 2 tickets for you and your professor to eat at some nice restaurant at price center with just the two of you, and the school pays for it.
