I have a flight that leaves from the Hartford airport at 5:50 am on Sat the 15th of December. This is before CT limo starts running. I'd like to leave around 3 am; does anyone a) know of an alternate economical method of getting to the airport at this hour or b) find yourself in a (very) similar situation and want to share a cab?

That is actually a hard question. Your best bet is going to be to find someone who's also headed to the airport at that time. I would say rent a car but it's hard to do if you're <25.
Here are some resources: 1) Yale sometimes offers shuttles before and after breaks, but they only run during like 10am-8pm or so. 2) This site: http://www.bradleyairport.com/Transport/ shows the ways of transport to/from Bradley. 3) Other ways to the airport - if you were going to JFK or LaGuardia/LGA or Newark/EWR would be Primetime (www.totheairport.com) or Red Dot. But I don't think these go to Bradley.
From the Bradley site, I would bet your best way is going to be one of the limo services here: http://www.bradleyairport.com/Transport/limo.aspx . It will probably cost you about $70, though. (not sure - but that's about how much it costs to JFK).
If you find a good solution, post it and let other people know about it. :)

You should join the Yale Rideboard facebook group (http://yale.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6882682084) and add the "Carpool" application. This allows you to request rides from people in the area and split the gas money. It is a cheap and often useful, convenient alternative to the limo services.
